If you start a paid Traxent subscription during the founding-member promotional period, the recurring price you pay for that plan is locked at the price shown at the moment you subscribe, and will not increase for as long as you keep that subscription continuously active — even if we later raise prices for new customers. This is what we mean by "the price you see is the price you pay" and by locking your price "for life".
The price lock applies to customers who start a paid subscription (currently Observer, Challenger or Funded Trader) during the founding-member promotional period. The period begins at launch on 1 July 2026 and runs until we close the offer. We will announce any closing date on the site, and we may end or change the offer for new customers at any time without affecting a lock already granted to existing subscribers.
A free account on its own does not carry a price lock. The lock is created when you start a paid plan during the period.
Your locked price applies only to the specific plan (tier) you are subscribed to, at that plan's price when you subscribed to it. Each plan is priced separately. The lock is not a personal discount that follows you to other plans, and it does not entitle you to the features or prices of any other plan.
If you move to a higher plan, you will pay the then-current price of that higher plan — that is, its price at the time you upgrade, not any earlier or historical price. From that point, the new plan's current price becomes your locked price, and is protected from future increases for as long as you remain continuously subscribed to it.
You subscribe to Observer at its launch price (say £4.99/month). Six months later, prices for new customers have risen across the board. You decide to upgrade to Challenger. You pay Challenger's current price at the time of upgrade — not the price Challenger happened to be when you first joined Observer. That new Challenger price is then locked for you going forward.
If you move to a lower plan, you will pay the then-current price of that lower plan. Because prices may have changed since you first joined, you will not return to an earlier price that is no longer offered — for example, an old £4.99 Observer price that has since increased. You receive the lower plan's current price, and that price then becomes your new locked price. Choosing to downgrade forfeits the locked price of the plan you are leaving.
A locked price lasts only while your subscription to that plan remains continuously active. If you cancel, or your subscription lapses (including a payment failure that is not resolved within our payment provider's retry window), the lock ends. If you subscribe again afterwards, you do so at the then-current price; a previous locked price cannot be reinstated.
The lock fixes the recurring plan fee only. It does not fix, and we may change: applicable taxes (such as VAT) and their rates; currency or exchange-rate differences; and any optional add-ons or separate products we may introduce. The lock never reduces the level of service — if we add features to your plan, you keep them at no extra cost.
We may change the name, structure, features or availability of our plans. If we discontinue a plan you hold, we will give you reasonable notice and offer the closest equivalent plan. A locked price cannot always be carried across to a materially different plan, but we will act reasonably and consistently with your consumer rights when this happens.
The lock is granted per account and is not transferable, saleable or redeemable for cash. It cannot be combined with other offers unless we say so. Automatic renewals are taken at your locked price until you cancel. Plan changes are processed through our payment provider (Stripe) and may be prorated. You can change or cancel your plan at any time from your account page.
Obvious pricing errors are not binding on us. We may vary these terms where necessary for legal or regulatory reasons, or to correct errors, but we will not use that right to remove a lock we have validly granted except as described above.
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales and are subject to our main Terms of Service. Your statutory rights are unaffected. Questions about the promotion? Email [email protected].
